EXCELLENT SCIENCE - Marie Skłodowska-Curie (IF) - Global Fellowship in Structural Geology at DiSPUTer, Ud’A

Federica Ferrarini is being post-doc scientist and research fellows in Structural Geology (GEO/03) at the Department of Psychological, Humanistic and Territorial Sciences (DiSPUTer, Ud’A) since from 2010. She has been granted in 2018 within the H2020 - EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation framework - by a three-yearly Marie Skłodowska-Curie (IF) Global Fellowship (grant= 260.000€), after reaching a score of 93.2/100.
This achievement is allowing her, since October 2018, to carry on a research project called ‘COLOSSEO’ (Seismogenic COmpression in southern Italy? – High-resolution topography (Lidar) and mOrphotectonic analySis to test the active nature of the Southern ApenninE Outer Thrust Front, https://cordis.europa.eu/project/rcn/214431_en.html) as Principal Investigator, and by means a training-through-research program. The fellowship expects a 2-year outgoing phase in the US (hosted by a Partner Organization) and a mandatory 1-year return phase to Europe, in an Institution representing the Beneficiary of the Project (the DiSPUTer at Ud’A, in this case).
Giusy Lavecchia, Full Professor in Structural Geology and chair of the CRUST (https://www.crust.unich.it/), is the Primary Coordinator of the project, at the Ud’A. J Ramón Arrowsmith, Full Professor at SESE-ASU (https://sese.asu.edu/), is the supervisor in the US, in the partner/hosting institution.

As acknowledgement for the scientific maturity achieved by the researchers granted by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie (IF) – Global Fellowship, the recent Italian legislation (DM 963, 2015) made possible that Universities recruit a researcher 'directly’ (Law n. 240, 2010 - art. 24, comma 3, b) for a three-year fixed-term research period.
Ud’A and DiSPUTER, together with a few other Italian institutions, took up this virtuous path which led to the recruitment of the researcher as RTDb, for the next three years, starting from October 1st, 2018. |
